Hi, When I am working on our network the path name to the
linked tables is H:\Investigations\Investigations
Database. When working on the VPN the path name starts
with E:\Websters\Investigations\etc. Now of course my
queries look for wherever I initially constructed the
database. Is there a way I can easily get around this.
It has to be automatic or my users will get cranky.
Thanks, Mon

Hi,

When you have the file picker dialog open to choose the
database to link to, type the UNC path and filename (such
as \\servername\folder1\..\yourfile.mdb)instead of
picking the database. This way, the link should work
from any PC with access rights to the network folder,
regardless of their drive mappings.

In rereading your question, I'm not sure if my previous
post will take care of your problem. When I first read
it I just saw the different drive letters and assumed it
was a mapping issue, but I see that you mentioned VPN vs
regular network environment. Post back if the VPN will
not be able to use the UNC to access the file.
