Drive letters

Many posts have referred to problems similar to mine but
not the same:

I cannot seem to use drive letters above E:, I have floppy
A:, partitioned HDD C: & D: and CD-RW E:. I have fitted a
DVD-RW as a slave on the sec IDE which is recognised by
bios, and shows up in device manager. Power is on. I can
physically swap it with the CD-RW (changing jumper setting
as necessary) and it works. Also, I have also tried to
install a USB Digital Camera and this won't appear as an
additional drive either. Perhaps this is linked to the
above.

Unlike most of the other posts/responses on similar
problems I am running Win 98 not XP.

Furthr to my last post. I've downloaded TweakUI and now
understand your comments Cari. Unfortunately, this is not
the problem.

Did you perhaps upgrade to XP rather than do a clean install?

If so, do you have a "Lastdrive=" command in a config.sys file ?
