I have a system running XP. It has two hard drives, with
one being only for storage. It has worked well for a
long time. I decided to do a XP complete reinstall and
transferred my files to the storage disk. I unplugged
the storage disk and completely formatted my c: drive and
then reinstalled the storage disk by plugging it back
up. XP identifies the storage disk but will not assign a
drive letter to it. I can't access my stored files. My
sytem is no different than it was 5 days ago except I
can't see and get my files from the storage disk. In
computer management I can see the disk but not manipulate
it. Please help.

Hi,

Go to disk management, in the lower part of the right
pane, move the mouse pointer to the unnamed drive and
right click, select initialize drive. Afterall, windows
should recongnize your drive and label it. The drive name
should follow the C drive, CD-rom drive, for example : E
drive. You can re-assign the drive name by changing the
path.

Hope it helps.

Peter
