Drive letter changes won't stay

I am trying to set up my computer so that my two CD-ROM
drives are drives O: and P:. I can go through the disk
manager and make the changes, and everything is great
until I reboot the machine and it resets the letters back
to their originals (E: and F:)...

How do I get the drive letter changes to stick across
boots?

Thanks,
Sean

I experience the same problem. I have 2 SATA disks (not RAID). I installed the second disk before one year and since then it was assigned the drive letter F. Before some weeks it started to change automatically and crazy. I have to change it manually every time I reboot or occasionaly every two times I reboot. It' s drive letter is occupied by a CDROM. The disk management (Control Panel-Windows XP) reports it as DYNAMIC disk. What can I do?

Note:I have firewall installed.
