I am using Drive Image 7 to create an image file on CDR.
I can see the file and verify it in the image browser
under Win XP Home. When I boot PKRE, it can see the
CDR drive, but can not see the file on the CDR disc.

I have verified the file can not be seen in PQRE on
another machine as well.

I have a request into Powerquest, but so far, no response.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Are special drivers needed to see this drive from the PQRE? Most likely!

Was the CDR completely empty - and not formatted with packet writing
software such as DirectCD or InCD? It has to be a clean (new out of
the box CDR and not a CDRW).

If it was a clean new CDR, try another but this time use one from a
different batch or maker. I have also had problems with Drive Image
writing directly to CDRs - not with DI 7 but with DI 2002.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have since quit using DI
to write directly to a CDR.

The CD drive is being seen in PQRE. (There is a dialog that has a pull
down to
select the source, and the CD drive is in the list.) The problem is
that the image file on the disc is not being seen.

It was a new, completely empty TDK CDR. The image file on it is visible from
DI 7 when running under Windows XP, but is not visible under PQRE. The use
model that I have to support for this machine is to write directly to CDR.

I'll try a few more image files and see if any of them are visible, but my
sense is that the problem is not the media.

If Powerquest continues to fail to respond, and I can't find a work-around,
I'll demand a refund for DI 7. My experience with Powerquest on DI2002 and
now with DI 7 is that their lack of technical support for real "mainstream"
problems may drive me to move to competitor's products.
