Hi - Hope someone can help...I'm trying to run DI2002 from a .bat
file. I found the command line switches, but all I can do is display
the GUI. There doesn't seem to be a switch to specify the name and
location of the .pqi file.

Or is there something else that I'm missing.

Thanks.

DI2002 is *NOT* compatible with Windows 2000, XP or 2003. You will need to
upgrade to DI7.

Well that's news to me. I've been using it since XP was installed.
If you read the accompanying docs, XP is mentioned, and not as in
"*NOT* compatible.

That' not true. DI2002 works just fine imaging and restoring XP and is
included with the purchase of DI7.

My recollection is that there is a problem with WindowsXP AND SP1 AND NTFS with
DI2002. This information was posted in these newsgroups and I'm sure one can
search to find details.

But it's for use with 9x and NT only. Any other version you should use v7.

You are perfectly correct - hence my remark. The OP is either a) not running
NTFS or b) hasn't SP1 installed (in which case, he should rectify this
oversight immediately!)

Then somebody better tell that to the PQ person who wrote the DI2002
readme file...

Let's assume I'm using DI7... What's the command line to create a
..pqi file and save it to d:\?

"C:\Program Files\PowerQuest\Drive Image 5.0\IMGRUN32.EXE" /SCHD /QID="Save
HD-c" /NOPROMP"

That was with DI5, but it is the same for DI2002

You first have to create a schedule file in DI2002. If you saved it under
another name
than "Save HD-c", just change it in the command line too.

It can be launched by Windows Scheduler from a *.cmd or *.vbs file .
I do not know if it will work otherwise.

For DI to run, your D:\ drive should not be too fragmented.

So in your command file, first enter something like
"defrag d:". When defragmentation is complete, DI image will
¸be launched.
