I have installed XP and my drive designations are: floppy drives A and
B, hard drives C and F, CDRoms D and E.

How can I change the designations of my hard drives to C and D and the
CDroms to E and F.

Thanks for your help.

Go to start run type diskmgmt.msc and hit OK.
Right click on the drive you want to change and select
Change drive letter.

As already mentioned, use the administrative tool -Disk Management- to do
this. Suggest choosing something like J and K for the cdrom drives. Then
change the F hard drive to D. Then put those cdrom drives to the letters
that you want to use. I usually skip a few letters in between the last hard
drive and the first cdrom drive. That way I don't have to repeat the steps
if I mess around with hard drive partitions and add or remove their
letters.

NOTE: If you have some programs installed on F:, they may not run after you
name the drive D:. If you run into trouble like this, reinstall the
programs in question into their existing folders.
