I am trying to back up my date from quicken on a cd-rw in drive d. It tells
me it is not assessable. I also tried drive e with same results.
Any help would be apprreciated
Is this is a problem with one specific disk? Do any other disks work
properly in that drive (e.g. program installation CDs)?
If it is a general problem with all disks then try uninstalling the CD
drives(s) from Control Panel - Hardware - Device Manager. Then reboot
the computer and it will redetect and reinstall the drive(s).
If that doesn't work then download CDGONE.ZIP from
http://www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip unzip the contents and
install (right-click) the .REG file it contains. Reboot the computer
to redetect and reinstall the drive(s). You may also have to
reinstall your CD burning software if you are using something other
than Windows XP's built-in capability.
Note: I personally will never use CD-RW disks because I find them to
be problematic, especially if I try to use them in a different
drive/computer than the one they were created on. CDR disks are
cheaper than dirt and that is all that I use.
Good luck
