i have a few machines on my network and I'm trying to access my drives that
are on a win2k pro machine from a machine running win xp. is there a way to
bypass having to enter a username and password and have it automatically log
into the drive? if you have a sure fire way of doing this you can always
email it to me at (e-mail address removed) and lemme know.

You can add a new user to the 2000 machine, making sure the new user
name and password match the XP's username and password, and making sure
the new user belongs to a group that has access rights to the drive. Or
you can use 'managed' passwords on your XP machine. see:

what i need is how to access the shared drives on the network without having
to enter a username and password each time. heres the exact scenario: i have
a win2k machine that has 2 shared drives on it. i have a winXP machine that
accesses those shared drives. the first time i access them of any session i
have to enter a username and password. i wanna know if theres a way to
