Have Windows xp and I cannot insert a floppy disk into
the drive!! It will not go in all the way. I have the
1.44mb blanks. HELP!! I have not added any new hardware.

If you can not insert the floppy into the drive, are you inserting it
correctly? It only goes in one way.

If you are sure you are inserting the flopp correctly, then you may need to
replacing the floppy drive.

Isit a 3 1/2" drive? I have a Iomega zip drive that has disks of similar size but fatter and I can't get 3 1/2" disks to go into it (yes I did try).
If you can't physically insert the disk in all the way then it sounds like there is something wrong with the drive. Try some other 3.5" disks (I assume it's not a 5 1/4" one). The loading mechanism on most 3 1/2" floppy drives is mechanical - you can insert or remove the disk with no power to the computer (handy when you have to use your emergency boot disk).

look In the drive and make sure that the little silver
cover on the floppy disk has not come off inside the
drive.. it is the most likely problem

If you have the disk turned the right way and can't insert it, if there is
not another disk in the drive, it's time to get a new floppy disk drive!
