Where the H is DreamScene. MS promoted it like crazy the last 48 hours and
it's no where to be seen.
It's one of the reasons I paid the extra dollars for Ultimate and I fully
expected it to be in the box or immediately downloadable in Ultimate Extras.

Now I hear it's not going to available for a long time. If that's true than
there has been some very dishonest promotion done here in my opintion.
MS where is the feature and when came I get it, otherwise I want a refund.

Like someone else previously said: would you rather have a product that
crashes your computer, or one that works like it should?

I have been waiting for it as well! But, I can wait.

Yes, it was annoying that it was delayed. The company who makes it
StarDock's website leads me to believe it will be this month. But other
articles quoting Microsoft have put forward the middle of the year.

You will get it soon enough. It definitely isn't gone. Also, many other
currently undisclosed extras will be released. I was pretty disappointed
that DreamScene wasn't available, but I can manage. They obviously have a
reason for holding it back.

They never let that stop them before! LOL!

If you bought Vista Ultimate purely to run Dream scene, then you ripped
yourself off.. :)

My concern is that MS is not mentioming in their promotions that it is a
way's off. They make it sound TOTALLLY like it's here now, and that is
extremely misleading. At least I won't waste anymore time trying to fiqure
out how to turn it on.

Actually, alot of their promotional material says the three extras available
at launch would be bit locker, poker and dreamscene. They even have a poll
on the website asking which feature is liked the best and of course
dreamscene is far and away number 1. I think what is upsetting everyone was
that the all the promotional material spoker of dreamscene being available,
but when they are asked there are no responses and we are just ignored. We
did afterall shell out $400.00 for this software are we not entitled to
answers, even if they are vague?

That's not the point at issue here. The point being made by the OP is not
one of the purported stability of an OS but a perceived misleading
advertising campaign.

Indeed, you may have patience enough to wait and I shall not in any way
question your claim. Nonetheless, your response doesn't really answer the
specific remark posited by the OP. All it does is justify a misleading
business practice - in effect, questionable ethics.

My concern is that MS is not mentioming in their promotions that it is a

I applaud your perception as well as your courage to speak of it.

Well, since Windows 95 was late, I've allways said "If *Microsoft* doesn't
think it's ready for release, it's not ready for me."

If the man tells you to hate another,
It's not so you can benefit at the expense of the other...
It's so he can benefit at the expense of you!

With all respect, nobody sensible purchases a $400 OS just to have
DreamScene.. it will come.. have patience..

Again with all due respect most everyone here is not saying that the only
reason they paid for Ultimate was for Dreamscene, but it was a huge plus.
It's not the matter of waiting, just for the fact when you expect something
and it's not there along with the fact that you can't even gat a response
when it will be available leaves you feeling a little crapped on. I have
been one to defend Microsoft to any and everyone that tries to bash them
(including the militant Mac users) and then when things like this happen, it
make you take a second thought and think "maybe they have a point". It's all
about customer service...when you treat the customer as though they don't
exist, then they begin to not-exist. All I am asking for is clarity and
answers. If it's weeks away...fine. If it's months away...so be it. But
they have to have some clue when we might ever see it. And just to put this
arguement to bed over weather or not they said it would be available...this
is from the Microsoft Windows Vista Team Blog...Nick White.

"This year's keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas by
Bill Gates showed off Microsoft's upcoming Ultimate Extras for consumers who
purchase the Windows Vista Ultimate SKU. MS now has three Ultimate Extras
lined up to hit Windows Vista Ultimate users on 30th January to coincide with
Windows Vista's general availability date."

That does not sound like it's going to be out in the fall. That says lined
up for january 30th release. So does that mean a few days? Weeks? Months
is really begining to border on false advertising.

When corporations lie, mislead, cheat, engage in false advertising-
most don't blink, some even try to defend them.
Lawd have mercy if a user in this forum brings up trying to do
something not quite what some EULA drivel says you can't.

Some in this forum bust a nut when they hear words like,
"Microsoft", "Bill Gates", "Windows", "Vista". Don't disturb
their woody and make them any limper by saying bad things
about Microsoft erotica.

I have to agree MS dropped the ball here. On launch day it
was quietly not mentioned. The extras website hasn't been
updated in ages - They sould have made it clear on launch
day that it was not going to be available for some time.
