DreamScene error

I have a 4.2 rating and everything runs great, yet when I try to run
dreamscene it shuts down my aero capabilities which in turn shuts down
dreamscene. Has anyone run into this problem?

It crashes my user mode display drivers at system startup and exit of a DX
game. System recovers straight away so I don't mind (user mode drivers don't
cause blue screens).

What video card do you have? I have only been using dreamscene for a very
short while but haven't had that kind of problem.

I've had no problems with DreamScene, even running the 'bear' sample movie
as a desktop background and i'm using an ATI Radeon 9550 (which is somewhat
basic compared to some video cards that are available.) But then i'm no
gamer, so i don't need the additional features of a top of the range video
card.

The sample movies however are NOT the same thing as Dreamscene. If you
go into personalized settings, the drop down has Sample Movies (which
you are talking about) and Dreamscene, which gives just one option.

Like the OP, I too am having problems. As soon as I click on the
single item in the Dreamscene page, mys PC hangs. I have a NVIDIA
7600GS, and I've tried all the possible drivers with no joy.

I just don't see the fascination with Dreamscene. What do people do
sit around and stare at thier desktop. Don't you USE your computer?

I have tired the microsoft drivers and have installed the ATI drivers.

I agree absolutely, but if it doesn't work, it sets you wondering that
something must surely be broken somewhere!

I just installed a 7600GS this week end. I'm using Ver. 100.65 for the
driver. Dreamscene runs OK. If you don't take into consideration the CPU
cycles it sucks up.

My graphics rating is a 3.7,
gaming graphics 3.9,
Processor 4.8,
Memory RAM 5.3,
Primarty HD 5.5
But when trying to run dreamscene, even on a relatively small 4mb file I get
this error:
(Link leads to graphic of error code copied from desktop)
http://www.robrob8.com/forum/index.php?topic=235.0
Desktop size exceeds max primary video adpater maximum texture size (sic).
I am running a Sony RC110G, 3.0ghz, 2mb ram, larger hdd., ati x700 graphics
card (256mb) and dual monitors.
Is it the two monitors that won't let dreamscene run?
Is that what the error means?
