we have been using autocad to lay out rv parks, etc. but now want to try
powerpoint so that it will be easier to go to the printers. Can I use pp
for this type of drawing? Also, if I were to continue to use autocad (we
have v2000) can it be brought into pp and not lose line quality?

If the drawing needs much detail or accuracy, I would not recommend
PowerPoint. Especially if you are used to AutoCAD. PowerPoint's drawing
tools while capable, are very tedious to use.

If I recall correctly, acad 2000 allowed you to save the drawing as a *.dxf
file. PowerPoint can import this directly into your presentation.

....and not lose line quality?

That really depends. If you try to show a D or E size drawing on
PowerPoint's standard (10" by 7 1/2") slide size there will be an obvious
degradation. Same thing going the other way. You will want to set your
slide size comparable to your drawing size. You do not want to have to
resize the drawing.
