Drawing Polygons

How do I draw an arbitrary polygon? I have been connecting lines and grouping
them, but that does not allow me to fill the object with color.

Use a Freeform shape. On the Drawing toolbar, there is this AutoShapes menu.
The Freeform shape is in the Lines menu within this AutoShapes menu.
