I know you can draw using the mouse when showing a PPT presentation. I'd
like to be able to position the cursor within a page and type there using
the keyboard during a presentation, in much the same way as I use the mouse
for drawing. I'd like to be able to change the type font, color and size.
All this without leaving screen show mode.

Any ideas?

If projecting the presentation through the second video output and your
computer supports "extended desktop" (the ability to have different content
on each monitor) you can accomplish what you are looking to do. You need set
up your computer's display settings for extended desktop. Then in PPT go to
SLIDESHOW >> SET UP SHOW >> in the multiple monitor section use the dropdown
menu and select secondary monitor. When a show is run, the second monitor
will show the presentation, your monitor will display PPT in the edit mode.
You can add a text box, type in text and it will appear in real time on the
show screen (just practice a bit first as there are some other issues to be
familiar with).
