The help instructions allude to a method of dragging multiple favorites to a
folder [they mention 'Select a folder you want to move the selected FILES
to']. I have tried to select in every way known to me in the 'Organize
Favorites' window. I have tried 'Click once' on each [even double click on
each], hold Alt or Cntl or Shift down and click once on each favorite -
nothing seems to select multiple favorites. I appreciate anyones' time and
efforts in providing a solution to me. Thanx.

Don't use 'Organize Favorites'.
Use Windows Explorer to organize favorites. It is much easier.

Thank you Alan. I will try and let you know.

Alan, Do you know which file the favorites are in and where? When i export
favorites and then access the file using Windows Explorer by double clicking
it opens Internet Explorer and the file is an HTML file i think and is not
editable even by copying to MS Word. Please correct any errors i may have
stated and i appreciate any suggestions you have. thank you for helping
people on this site.

From IE Help:

To organize your favorite pages into folders

As your list of favorite pages grows, you can keep it organized by creating
folders. You might want to organize your pages by topic. For example, you
could create a folder named Art for storing information about art exhibits
and reviews.

On the Favorites menu, click Organize Favorites.
Click Create Folder, type a name for the folder, and then press ENTER.
Drag the shortcuts (or folders) in the list to the appropriate folders.
If the number of shortcuts or folders makes dragging impractical, you can
use the Move to Folder button instead.

I see no mention of /multiple/ favorites, Vince. This topic is referring to
user-created folders in Favorites, as well as the default folder Links.

The default location of /your/ Favorites folder (in Explorer) is

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Favorites

Thank you. I have successfully edited my favorites in 'Windows Explorer' by
finding my Favorites folder and dragging the files to any folders of choice

YW & yes, that works but when you do it that way, you have no control over
the order in which the links are then displayed in IE Favorites dropdown
list (from topmost IE menu) or Favorites sidebar (from Favorites button).

Thank you. I have successfully edited my favorites in 'Windows Explorer'
by finding my Favorites folder and dragging the files to any folders of
choice on the left. As you know 'Windows Explorer' gives you the options
of selecting multiple files with Shift and Cntrl. Thanx.
