Drag n drop not creating labels for the fields from the field list

I have an Access 2000 database running in Access 2003. I added a new form,
added the control source and chose View field list so I could drag the
fields onto the form. However, this time only the field names are showing
up, not the labels, except for the checkbox.
Is there a setting in Access 2003 that would stop labels being created on a
new form using drag n drop from the field list? I haven't seen this before
in any version of Access.

This is a wild guess, but if you drop the text box control too close to the
left side of the form, the label will be created underneath the textbox.
Could that be it?

Nope - tried dropping them in several places.

This is a wild guess, but if you drop the text box control too close to
the left side of the form, the label will be created underneath the
textbox. Could that be it?

YES - this works. I wonder how I messed it up in the first place, but now
all is well.
