drag & drop movies from collection to timeline

I have problems to drag & drop movies from my collection to the time line.
Strange enough I have no problems with one of the users on my XP Home
edition, but with the others it fails. Also the button "apply default
settings" doesn0t solve the problem.
Is there anyone who has experience with this
