Drag & Drop leaves icon instead of picture

Using WinXPP; when I drag and drop an image into a word
processor, it dispalys an object icon instead of the
image. Any Ideas?
Dragging from Windows Explorer (thumbnail view, not that
it should matter) to MS Wordpad. This works of three
other WinXp PCs that I've tried it on, but not on this
one PC in particular. Looking for help in trying to
discover what is wrong on the one PC.
 
Right click the picture/icon in Word pad, Object Properties, View, and set what you want.
