My screen is set to 120 dpi as i find that this gives me the best size for my
eyes on all programmes and start up menu's etc. i need to go back to 96dpi as
i want to download virgin pc guard and another programme.MY problem is that
when i alter this setting all fonts sizes, icons and outlook express words etc
etc are smaller how can i overcome this.

2 things to try.
Start / Programs / Accessories / Accessibility Options and select the one for make menus larger.

there is an option under desktop properties to make fonts larger.
