downsize photos

i too am new and send photos that are too big. sometimes i also receive ones i can't get through. i don't know where to find jpg, or jpeg, please help a grandma.
 
Your photo\picture program has an option to "save as" .jpg or .bmp, etc.
Choose to save as jpg and your photos will be smaller (in kbs) to send in an
email.

If you are using Windows XP, you can download a PowerToy from Microsoft that
will allow you to resize images for sending.

The application is called Image Resizer and the link is here:
