Hi

I wondered of anyone knows how to saw downloads - it
currently saves it in a tempoary folder but has
previously been allowable to save the download.

Naji, I thought the standard downloader offered the choice of "save to
disk" or Install". With save to disk it will save it, then you can go
in & run it later to install.

If you don't get that offered, do a Google search for "Leechget".
This is a separate freeware downloading program that will replace the
one you are using now. It definitely offers a "save" button, & I
always do.

It also has a couple of other functions that are superior to what you
are using now. It remembers where you left off in case you get cutoff
(especially good of you are at a snail's pace dial-up speed). It
also offers a multiple files downloads function (never used that). It
also has pretty colored graphs to see your progress as you download.

No I click on a download link and it automatically
downloads to a tempoary folder. This previously didn't
occur and I was given the choice.

Try the "Leechget" freeware download program. It will let you specify
which folder to save to every time.

Also if you install it, have it load the icon in the tray at boot up,
but not load the program itself (to avoid a little thingy that
displays at boot-up that says "no files in download queue" & you have
to click that little teeny window off). It will engage when you go to
download a file. I recommend this tool. "Leechget" (find it on the
Tech TV website if you can't find it with an Internet search).

Create a new folder and name it something you can remember. (I use downloads).
Then download everythhing into it. It has advantages because temporary files
are usually deleted and should something happen to a program downloaded you
can reinstall it simply by clicking on it in the 'download' file.

It saves wherever you want it to. It it's defaulting to a
temporary folder, just change to whatever folder you want (I
recommend creating a special folder for downloads; I call mine
\dl), just navigate to whatever folder you want. It will default
to that folder in the future.
