Downloads failing on only one site -- all others OK

I'm having a problem downloading files from only one site. This issue has
just popped up (again, it happened in September and I posted on or about
the 14th as I recall) for no apparent reason that I can find. I've been
downloading files from this site with no problems at all until a couple of
days ago. Now, I may manage to get one in a series of files downloaded and
then all other downloads will freeze. The only error message I get is "Not
Found" preceded by the file name.

When this happens I am also sometimes unable to get back to the homepage of
the site and Internet Explorer simply returns the "Page Not Found" DNS
error
message. The site is hosted on GoDaddy servers and they claim no issues on
their end. The site owner and webmaster also claims no problems and says I
am the ONLY MEMBER reporting this problem.

I've cleared the Temporary Internet Files, restarted Internet Explorer and
rebooted my system. No change. I installed Firefox and still no change.
I
disabled my firewall with no change to my situation.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Since you haven't told us what this mystery web site is, I'll offer a
generic guess: You have installed protective software (antivirus,
antispyware, firewall, ad blocker, etc.) that is preventing you from
interacting with the web site.

Did you try to see your Add-Ons on the IE Properties and disable the non
registered Add-ons there and uncheck the [ ] Enable third party web
browser on the Advanced tap and then Reboot your computer then see if you can
download the file.

T access the Above, onpen IE page and click Tools >> Internet Options >>
Click on Programs Tab then click on Manage Add-Ons button and see what
add-ons not registered and Disable it (them).
While there click on Reset Web Settings button.
Then click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under Browsing option and uncheck
this:
[ ] Enable third party web browser Extensions (Req res)
Click Ok and Reboot your machine.
Check your blocked cookies you may blocked this web site without knowing
though.
HTH.
Please report back your findings.

Thanks for the information! This is about 5 times the help I got from both
my ISP (Qwest) and the website's webmaster. I'll check all this out this
afternoon or evening and let you know what results I get.

As I mentioned, this problem surfaced back in September and lasted for a few
days then went away. Now it has come back with no apparent cause that I can
find, just like it did in September. I have checked cookies and no problems
there.

My security software has been installed and running while accessing the
files with no problems. As I mentioned, this problem arose back in
September, out of the blue. It lasted a few days and suddenly I had
complete access to the files again. My firewall is configured to allow
communication between my system and the website. Turning the firewall off
did not change my issue. My username and password for the site have always
been accepted with no problems. It is like there is some kind of download
limiter that prevents me from downloading more than one file or more than
some arbitrary amount of data. The site allows multiple file downloads.

Hi Kevin,
If you are trying to download more than one file try this:

Start >> Run and type in: Regedit.exe
Then locate this key:
[-] HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings
Change the MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server to whatever number you want .
Change the MaxConnectionsPerServer to whatever number you want .

Also check the download directory what set to by going to this Key:
[-] HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer = Download
Directory:
if not there try to create it, if it is there see the path of the file
download:
your entry should look like this:
[ab] Download Directory REG_SZ C:\Document and
Settings\Nass\My Documents\My download for expl.
HTH.
