Downloads disaper

I updated from XPto vista now when I try to download anything it will not
show up where I save it or if I just try to run it nothing happens. What is
wrong here?
 
Make sure you are downloading to the right path. as IE sends downloads by
category to respective folders.

Vista default for downloads seems to be (in the main folders on the boot
drive) Under USERS> your username> downloads as the path..... If you tell
firefox something different, it will obey. But that doesn't mean that IE goes
along with that choice, so the download may be stashed in USERS as I
mentioned......
