My father has a slow diallup modem. I'm on cable modem. Can I download the XP security patches for him and write them to CD? I have the rollup (KB826939) but I'm talking about all patches since that rollup was issued on 14/10/03. I have searched for this info but I'm always directed to microsoft update where there is no option that I can see to download as a saveable install.

Hi,

Sure, go to the WindowsUpdate site, and in the left column choose the
catalog option (if you don't see it, click personalize and add it). Then
select his Operating System, download the files you want. These are
stand-alone versions of the updates which you can burn to CD and use on
other systems.
