Downloading .xls files

I am writing a spreadsheet program and will offer it for sale in a
downloadable form.

Being an executable, I am concerned if I will have trouble with my customers
being able to receive the file past their companies firewalls.

Any advice? Thanks!

Zip it up for download.

And that is all I have to do to avoid firewalls?

In most cases, yes. Many firewalls and some email clients (including MS
Outlook) will not allow exectutables through.

You should be OK with a zip file in most cases. It would depend on specific
firewalls, but I shouldn't think it will be a problem.

I can't open excel sheets in emails and it says to change my preferences on
this. how do i do this. word docs and pdfs are fine but not excel sheets.m
