Hi byte thank you for the info..I tried to do what you had suggested but when
I have my media player open no where can I find 'tools'. I was excited to see
your reply to my question as it seemed very simple but I guess not. Do you
have any other suggestions...muchly appreciated.

After you open WMP, to show the Tool bar (Tools) hold down
the Alt key and press T
IOW (in other words) - Alt+T

Thank you very much byte...all the file options were checked off...also thank
you for showing me how to get to the tool bar...I will try to download again
and see if i get the same message.

Hi byte..it is still doing the same thing saying 'matches incomplete local
file' any other suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

To byte...i followed the instructions at the help that you included with the
previous post...but on the help page it said to go to file formats...in my
wmp there is no file format option...the only that is says regarding files is
'file types' and all of them are checked off. There is a sample page at the
help link but I don't have anything that looks like the sample page. thanks
once again

I should have asked from the start, what is the file type (extension) you are
trying to play? It is the three letters after the period, like xxxxxx.xxx
When you clicked on the File Types tab, was that format (i.e. MP3) listed?
If it is not on the list, then WMP will probably NOT play it. You can then
convert
to a compatible format. Let us know, OK?
