downloading windows xp sp2

I'm trying to download windows xp sp2 and am totally confused. I set
Automatic Updates, set it for the current time and nothing seems to be
happening. There is no message saying whether or not it's working. What
should I do?

Download the full IT version of Windows XP Service Pack 2. Install it
manually (visit each manufacturer - web page - of each piece of hardware you
own and check for the latest hardware drivers for your syustem as well.)
