Frustrated

Hey all -

We are on a domain with user profiles. The student user profile is
restricted from changing the background on the desktop with the typical right
click of the mouse and clicking on properties. However, if they go to a web
site that has downloadable backgrounds/wallpaper they can download a
background and save it to the desktop. Of course, if I log onto the machine
with the student ID I can't change the background to change it back to the
default. If I log on as administrator the desktop is the default and doesn't
have the picture that was downloaded. How do I find out what type of file
extension the downloaded background has? I have looked at all the .jpgs,
bmps, gifs, and .htm files on that machine and I can't find it. Any
thoughts? Thanks.

Have you tried looking in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer

It could be a .png file also.

I did not, but I will try that. Thanks.
