Downloading Service Pack 1

My computer wants to shut down while downloading the
service pack. Is there any way to stop this?

Are you getting any messages before shutdown?

What do you mean by shut down? Do you get a message saying the system is
shutting down? If so what does it say? If it's coming from power
management then you can try disabling it. You can do that from Control
Panel -> Power Options.
