Downloading saved music to Mint

Hi all well here is the first question I am hoping that you can answer. I have about 44 gigs of music which was on W8 and saved to a external drive is it possible to transfer to Mint:confused: and if so what do I need to do, any help gratefully received:cheers:
 
plug in external drive ... navigate to music file/folder ... play. :)

leave the files where they are ;)

Yes, what Mucks said, that would have been my reply as well.

btw, hard drives are mechanical devices and after a certain amount of time most of them fail.

If you don't want to risk losing all your music (and any other data you may have stored on your external drive) I strongly recommend getting a second hard drive and backing everything up onto it.

I've read too many tales of woe with people losing data to failed hard drives.
