Downloading Programs

I have Windows XP and I'm having a problem downloading programs. When I click
on the download to run, it just keep runing, it never stops, I have to turn
off the computer. Today, I tried to download and install an update and the
same thing happen. Appreciate your help. Thanks
 
You haven't provided much in the way of detail, so I'll take a guess:
Your security software is preventing you from downloading files to your
hard drive.

Have you tried saving to file and then installing ?
 
Yes, I have saved it to file and then install it, but during the verification
run, it just keeps runing.
