When I download jpeg images emailed to me from someone else's digital camera, it comes up blank and says there is no preview available. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Try clicking on one and see if it will open in your system viewer.

Maybe this KB article will help:

(326675) "No Preview Available" and "File

It displays when you click on the attached picture, but when you go so "save it as", it only gives me the option of .bmp or .art, both of which come up blank when downloaded.

John, keeping this theme open a little longer, what is happening if you have neither AOL or Compu Serve (based on the URL you gave) but instead using IE60 and OE60... and getting a message that the files have suspicious content and you can't open them. These were personal photos from a friend. All you have is the large square boxes with little red x's. I received several jpegs and could not open them. Thanks!

Try this...open OE and go to...Tools / Options /
Security tab...and uncheck...
"Do Not Allow Attachments etc. etc." / Apply / OK.

Hi John. I appreciate your response and I am aware of that item but that's not the problem...I have long since removed that checkmark. Could it be something within my AVG or XP firewall, that won't allow the photos to be viewed? Thanks and Merry Christmas to you. Regards

What is the exact message when you attempt to
open the images?

Have you tried to save the images to your hard
drive and view them from there?

The message states that "unable to open attachments because of suspicious content". No, I never attempted to download items to HDD but will do that. If successful will post back...otherwise will delete contents and have sender resubmit the photos. I have already contacted sender that they weren't viewable. Thanks again!

There has to be a setting somewhere in your
security system that needs a simple adjustment.

I was hoping the error would identify the offending
program but no such luck.
