I am trying to download McAfee Software on my computer, but it says it can't
because the Java Script is not working properly on this PC. Why is this? I
use Mozilla FireFox 3.

Don't bother. There are many better free apps that will do the same and not
hog all the machine resources...

Ask on a Mozilla Firefox group. It's obviously as browser setting, however,
I can tell you that McAfee relies on Internet explorer so make sure it is
set to its default settings.

Try to use McAfee when you've installed IE 8 beta. The latter screws up
the interface of McAfee virusscanner. Only removing IE 8 solves the
problem (it doesn't bother me, I'm using Firefox 3.1 beta 1)

Firefox uses plugins for this kind of stuff, go to Tools, Add-Ons and
hopefully it will be there. If not you can always go to Java.com and
download the latest. Remeber to uninstall the version you currently
have because Java does not do that when it installs the newer
versions. If you don't uninstall first, you will end up with a whole
long list of Java stuff, most of it outdated, clogging up your
computer.
