I'm new at using Windows Mail for Vista Basic. This stuff is driving me
nuts! I started checking my email at 6:30AM this morning. It's now 2:37PM.
It's STILL trying to download an email. I received one...now it's hung up.
Is there a way to acually STOP it from downloading? When I hit "stop" it
still tries to finish the download. What's the point of hitting stop? True,
I do only have dial-up, but 8 hours to download one email? I have made a
"rule" not to download files larger than 700KB...but that doesn't seem to
work.
The green bar has been showing for the last hour or so that the email is
complete.
Someone please help me!!!!
Thanks!

Disconnect from the Internet. That should stop the download.
Then access that mailbox via web mail and delete the problem email.

Thanks, Gary. But I don't know how to access my Windows Mail via web mail.
Could you help me with that too, please?
I've had Earthlink for years... this is all Greek to me.
Thanks!

Gary and Dave...thanks for your help.
It was trying to receive mail from my surfmk acct. I figured out how to
access it, and deleted it. When I went back to my Windows Mail...It is STILL
trying to download it.
Any other suggestions?
I will be so glad when Earthlink will work with Vista.
Thanks again!

PROBLEM SOLVED! THANKS GUYS!
I went into task manager and ended the mail process (after I deleted it on
web mail). When I went back to my Windows Mail, I started receiving all the
emails that had been hung up all day.
The file that caused all of this wasn't even big...only 26KB. Go figure!
Anyway...THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP! I never would have thought to
check the web mail for my surfmk acct. and delete the problem email.
You guys helped me from losing my religion! :)

Glad you were able to resolve the problem.

I'm sure someone here has figured out how to have EarthLink accounts
work with Vista.
