Downloading fonts...?

When I go to those sites with the cool fonts that aren't on my computer, and
I click download, it downloads it and I can see it in a folder, except that
it dosnt show up in my list of fonts on Word or in the control panel I have
tried the add new font thing on the control panel but it doesn't work, mainly
because it confuses me. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.
 
Open the Help and Support Center, search for: add fonts, and see the
article: Add a new font to your computer.

I hope that fonts are the only things that come with the download.
