hello,

I have a new laser printer that does not print pdf files that use embedded
arial and embedded arial bold fonts (I am using lpr printing). The printer
works fine if the pdf file uses true type arial and arial bold fonts.
That's because my printer is missing arial and arial bold fonts. Most of
small laser printers only come with 13 fonts, compare to big MFPs which come
with 35 fonts.

Is there any way to download fonts to the printer, please?

There is also a problem with pdf files that are created with pdf version 1.2
or 1.3. There is no problem with pdf version 1.4 or later.

Is there any standard for creating pdf files?

Thanks in advance!

The answer is probably relative to your operating system.
Windows PCs have no such problems (viz. are graphically-
oriented, thus print text the same way they print pictures.
The fonts are used only in Windows display or Windows
apps, e.g. Word, Photoshop.)
