downloading files does not work anymore

Hello,

On 3 pc's in scool I've got this problem:
When clicking on a file to download, on one pc, nothing happens (new blanc
explorer screen).
On the other 2 pc's, instead of the file download, I get a screen from
Quicktime, telling me that it needs a plug-in.
Quicktime has nothing to do with the file download.
I removed quicktime, but I still get the same message about that plug-in.

So, there should be a line somewhere, telling what to do when someone clicks
on a link for a download.
I guess that I have to correct that line, but,
Where can I find that option??

Can someone help me out?
