Microsoft IE6
When downloading a file from a webserver, I get the box asking whether to open or save. If I press "save", all is well. If I press "open" then
1) the appropriate application starts
2) I get an error saying the temporary internet file is missing
However, if the application (e.g. Word) is *already open* when I press the "open" button on the browsers dialog, the file opens fine.
The problem is browser specific and depends on if the application is already open or not.. and I can't seem to find any settings that might influence this. My temp cache is large enough, but I don't understand what controls the timing of the deletion of such temporary files - or how I can influence/check it.
I don't understand why the temporary file is being deleted before the application has a chance to open it.
Help! Any ideas.?
