I am sure there must be a trick that lets me download and
save a file in IE6 without opening it.

For example, if I want to download a pdf file, I click on
the link and the Reader plug-in opens and I then see the
file to be downloaded. But, I may not always want to see
the file.

In Netscape that was shift-click that let me go directly
to the save dialogue box. But in Explorer I have yet to
find the way.

Anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks

Right Click on the pdf link and choose "Save As..." then
save to your desktop or other preferred folder.
