hello. i can't seem to find any information on how to put
a check on the box with a note that says "Always ask
before opening this file etc... i don't remember the rest
of the note. anyway, i accidentally unchecked it and
continued with the download and now it just downloads
automatically. i don't want to use the rightclick save
target as... method. can you help me with this problem?
thank you very much =]

Can tell you what didn't work and maybe give a few observations, I'd
get that program not responding error after attempting to download
from the internet in IE when te save dialogue should have opened. I
have a current version of IE all patches for it and XP.

I tried restoring defaults (IE)

deleting temp files & cookies

repaired IE

reinstalled IE

restored WinXP to an earlier date

had no firewall(ICS maintains a firewall), or AV on local PC so
didn't check that.
spent a week downloading from other PC and eventually it resolved
itself; in fact even after an entire reinstall of said computer the
problem briefly returned

I'd really like to know as well, (improperly fornatted ftp requests?)

I'm also having the same problem. Could someone send me
the solution as well.

Thanks
