Downloader.MSCache files infected - How to cure?

We have a Compaq desktop running Windows XP for Home
which has two files infected with this virus
Downloader.MSCache and after repeatedly attempting Norton
AntiVirus Quarantine and deletion has failed to do.

Please supply possible solutions, or whether this will
require a technician to intervene.
