downloaded xp sp2 , explorer will not open

I downloaded the XP sp2 last night and now my explorer
browser crashes instantly. I double click my desktop icon
and it crashes witht he following error information:
Error Signature:
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName:
unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00149069

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to use
explorer again. Thank you

Explorer is not IE6.0
Reinstalling Internet explorer will do the trick

I've got the same problem, I'm using charter high speed but I can't connect
to the net. I'm on my lap top now,--the AppName is explorer.exe, ModName
kernel32.dll.
What' the deal with the updates causing so many headaches?

Justin, I am running ie6 and tried to download the latest
service pack sp1. I try to run the downloaded ie6 and get
an error saying there is already a newer version installed.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!Maybe a repair?
