I received an email from Microsoft recommending I
download new updates to protect my XP system from
hackers. After downloading, I've lost my scanner icon on
taskbar and I get a window that says computer can't find
Outlook Express or Incredimail or my scanner. I'm able
to go back into my start screen and get online and pull
up Outlook Express and Hotmail, but can't get Incredimail
or my scanner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

.
You've downloaded a nasty virus. Microsoft never has,
does not currently, and never will email unsolicited
security patches. At the most, if, and only if, you
subscribe to their security notification newsletter, they
will send you an email informing you that a new patch is
available for downloading.
