downloaded photos will not display

What can i do? I've been to many different websites
and i've been saving photos from them, but when i try to
open the files later the file is there but no matter what
program i use or what format the photo is in it will not
display! What do i do!!!

What happens? Any error messages? If you attach an image file to a mail
message, and send it to a friend, can they see the image?
