when i try to save a copy of downloaded PDF files from an
Acrobat Reader window in I/E 6, the process of browsing
to a target diretory stalls and fails. i have to use
Windows Task Manager to cancel I/E.

why, and how to fix?

please, thanks
martin

I understand that the Acrobat Reader is just that a reader/viewer.

How exactly are you trying to download the .pdf file?

Have you alread tried the floppy disk icon/button in the acroreader
toolbar, when the document is open? If it stalls already there, it's
likely to be a problem with the PDF reader. Tried a reinstall?

IE's File=>Save As won't work when the PDF is opened. Right-clicking on
the link to the PDF file and then "Save target as" should work, though.

replying to both henri and jan:

thanks, both for responses. the PDF's are auto downloads
from links on web pages. they invoke AcroReader within
I/E. what i usually do is Alt F/A to "save as."
sometimes it works, sometimes not.

i will try jan's suggestion next time.

tanx and best regards.
