Downloaded files dissappear after download stops

OK, Not a noob so call me crazy. Downloaded ffdshow to "dir" downloads, went
to find the app and it wasnt there. Tried it again, dl to desktop-wasnt
there. Tried to run file instead of save, doesnt run. I can install apps from
my server but not internet. Any answers?

In Run box type %temp% and then use View>Arrange Icons by>Show In
Groups>Date.

If you don't find it there then just do the download again, and save to
desktop and pay attention as to what the file is called. Then you can hit
Win Key +E and click on desktop and then you can View>Arrange Icons by>Show
in Groups>date and the download should be at the top.

i just realized my whole c:\ drive is set to read only and when i change it
{click ok and exit properties} i go back to properties and read only is
checked again.
 
Have you tried clicking on the log-in name from the start menu? I only have
12 downloads if I select the "Downloads" folder from the Documents link in
the start menu. From the log-in name link I've go 24 dowloads in the
"Downloads" folder.
 
ok full access is enabled for all users and still when i uncheck "read only"
and come back in its enabled.
