Download window closes suddenly

Hi - when I download a file (pdf, doc, xls etc), the small 'File Download'
window (which displays the progress of the download), now closes immediately
the download has completed. Before, it used to wait for me to make a decision
as to whether to save the file, or to open it. I don't get this opportunity
now and have to go into the file directory to find the downloaded file. How
can I reset this so that it offers me the options, as before. Thanks

When you are downloading a file, there is a checkbox in the window
that says "Close this dialog box when download completes" If you
uncheck this box, the window stays open when the download completes
