When SP2 for XPpro becomes available is their any problem downloading it to
a CD using Win-98 them installing into XP machine. Part two: is there any
problem accessing it, obviously one can't use auto update.

SP2 is available at the Microsoft Download Center
(standalone version, 266 MB):

This file can be downloaded from a Win98 computer and burned to a
CD for later installations on WinXP computers.

Thanks that partially covers it but I want to wait for the XPpro media
edition rather than the full file set.

The link I provided also covers XP Pro Media Edition, and it is
the only version you will be able to download to another computer
than the one you want to install SP2 on.


Alternatively, you can order a SP2 CD to be sent to you.
