download problems

Has anyone experienced difficult with downloads?
Specifically, when I click on a link to download a
product or update, (morpheus for example)all I get is a
blank IE screen with a little tri colored icon in the
upper left hand corner of the blank screen and a 'done'
at the bottom of the left side of the page. I've checked
my tools/options and cannot see anything out of the
ordinary that would cause/prevent my pc from
downloading. Can anyone help?

Here's the fix, courtesy of Alan Edwards, MVP:

If it is only .exe files, then read on and see if this is relevant:
You may have an invalid plugin.
Netscape-Style Plug-ins Do Not Work After Upgrading Internet Explorer

Remove the plugin with Regedit.exe
Start-Run-Regedit.exe
Navigate down to this key and remove it, after exporting it as a
normal safety precaution.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Plugins\Extension\.exe

If that key exists, then you will see what plugin has been installed.
(QuickTime by the looks of it and if so, I believe they have a fix)
The key does not normally exist.
